Rockspring, a Houston-based, multi-disciplined real estate firm targeting markets within the Texas Triangle (Austin, San Antonio and Houston), today announced that it sold a 187-acre property in the Katy South area of Fort Bend County. The sale was handled by Rockspring’s brokerage team, also known as Rockspring Properties, and was led by Vice President Chris Hutcheson, along with fellow Vice Presidents James Kadlick, Matt Herring and Harrison Kane.
The 187-acre site was sold in late 2020 to DR Horton and will be used to expand its Tamarron Lakes master-planned community. The property is located south of Jordan Ranch and west of Tamarron Lakes at the future intersection of Jordan Ranch Blvd and Tamarron Pkwy.
“Houston’s suburbs continue to be a strong focus for national developers, and this completed deal in Katy was a great way to cap off an unorthodox year in the real estate community,” said Michael Ross, President and Chief Strategy Officer for Rockspring. “We really didn’t take a back seat last year and a big part of that was due to the experience and hard work of our team. Rockspring’s brokerage team was well prepared in not only securing this Katy deal, but also in executing a number of additional sales for their clients throughout 2020.”
The Katy deal wrapped up a busy 2020 for Rockspring as the brokers executed many other transactions around the Houston area with more on the horizon. These sales included but are not limited to:
- A 920-acre parcel in Splendora
- Multiple Fort Bend County tracts totaling 430 acres
- A 4.27-acre church in Spring Branch
- A building on two acres across from Last Concert Café next to the CBD
- 94 acres at Lake Houston
“Rockspring Properties’ intricate knowledge of each submarket, alongside our relationships with the investment and development communities, help streamline our marketing process in finding the most qualified Buyer for the Sellers that we represent,” Kane commented. “The combination of our relationships and expertise lead to more marketability of the site and highest sales price achieved for our clients.”
Rockspring also has brokerage services in our Austin and San Antonio offices.
